Career
The Knight"s Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Kurt Bentin was captured in 1945 by British troops and was released in September on that year. He later joined the Bundeswehr retiring in 1968 as a Major.
