A graduate in science, Singh pursued Aeronautical Engineering in the UK, being subsequently selected to the Indian Army by British Officers Services Selected Board, UK
After graduating in Science from Meerut College, he went to UK to study Aeronautical Engineering. While pursuing engineering in UK, K.P. Singh was selected to the prestigious Indian Army, by British Officers Services Selection Board, UK. He joined the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun and was later on commissioned into The Deccan Horse-a renowned cavalry regiment of The Indian Army.

When American Universal Company merged with DLF Universal Limited, K.P. Under Singh’s leadership, DLF ultimately expanded its development projects far beyond Gurgaon, building apartments, shopping malls, and hotels. In 2007 he oversaw DLF’s much-anticipated initial public offering, which raised about $2.24 billion through the sale of 175 million shares of stock. He has transformed Gurgaon into a modern-day residential destination by providing it with world-class facilities like, earthquake proof office buildings, apartments and shopping malls. He holds many key positions in regulatory bodies, including the post of the president of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry India and also of the Philosophy Doctor chamber of Commerce and industry. He is the director of 31 different private companies engaged in various sectors of the economy. And finally, The prestigious 'Delhi Ratna' award was honored to him for his valuable contribution to Delhi.
