Kusuyata Kimura attended the political course at Tokyo University. While still a student was appointed tutor by Yanosuke Iwasaki, and this connection enabled him to join the Mitsubishi group after graduating (1890).
Kusuyata Kimura was appointed manager of Nagasaki branch (1895) and promoted to managing director (1920). He is ranked with Sadaeda Eguchi as the men who built up the great industrial empire of the Mitsubishi group of companies.
