Ng, Kwan-Hoong was born on February 13, 1954 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Son of Yeok Si and Poh Yee (Toh) Ng.


Bachelor of Science with honors, University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, 1978. Master of Science in Medical Physics, University Aberdeen, Scotland, 1980. Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Physics, University Malaya, 1994.


Research fellow University Aberdeen, 1980-1981. Medical physicist Computer Radionic Center, Kuala Lumpur, 1981. Physicist lecturer Tunku Abdul Rahman College, 1981-1985.

Head electron microscopy unit University Malaya, 1985-1990, lecturer in medical physics, since 1990, associate professor. Honorary consultant Mount Miriam Hospital, Penang, Malaysia, 1986-1993. Expert International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria, since 1993.
