Kwang-Yong Choi, Korean physicist. Achievements include first to establish Raman spectroscopy as an indispensible tool for studying magnetic excitations in quantum spin systems; first to demonstrate that a spin chirality in a spin triangle cluster is an essential parameter in realizing a nanoscale storing device; first to suggest solid-state spin qubits based on transition metal oxides.
