Prior to turning professional, Bigos attended Merrimack College where he played four seasons (2009-2013) of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I hockey with the Merrimack Warriors men"s ice hockey team

He is currently under contract with the Edinburgh Capitals of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Bigos was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round (99th overall) of the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. On July 8, 2013, the Edmonton Oilers traded Bigos to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Lee Moffie, and he started his professional career in the ECHL with the San Francisco Bulls.
On June 27, 2015, Bigos signed his first contract abroad in agreeing to a one-year deal with Scottish club, the Edinburgh Capitals of the EIHL.
