He obtained varsity letters in football and basketball at the Georgia class 5-A level and led his team to victories over Woodstock High School, Murray County High School, and Northview High School. College career
Davisson announced on National Signing Day of 2004 that he would be accepting a full athletic scholarship to Clemson University to play for coach Tommy Bowden. Davisson saw limited action his freshman year, but in the 2005-2006 season played in 8 games.
