Uyehara has been skating for 13 years. Uyehara started his speed skating career in Lakewood, Ca then moved to Marquette, Mi to train with the USOEC from 2006-2008. Uyehara is now currently one of eight men on the United States national short track team training in Kearns, Ut at the Olympic Oval.
