Career
Kovalets is product of youth team systems of Football Club Metalist Kharkiv. Made his debut for Football Club Obolon entering as a substituted player in game against Football Club Illichivets Mariupol on 22 October 2011 in Ukrainian Premier League. His father is Serhiy Kovalets a former international Ukrainian football midfielder, and former head-coach of Obolon Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League.
