Suzuki Kyuhei was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, 1893.
Graduated from Tokyo Koto Shosen Gakko (Tokyo Higher Mercantile Marine School) (1918).
Entered Nihon Yflsen Kaisha (N.Y.K.) and served on its steamship lines and was sent to Glasgow, England, to study diesel engine for use on ship. Returned (1925). Became supervisor of Nihon Godo Kosen Sempaku (Japan Joint Factory Shipbuilding Company) (1934). Trausferred to Nihon Whaling Company (1935) and toured Europe and America inspecting whaling industry.
Returned home and became chief of Factory Ship Section of Whaling Department of Kyodo Gyogyo Kaisha (Kyodo Fishing Company) to which Nihon Whaling Company was amalgamated (1936). When the company was further renamed Nihon Fisheries Company became its manager (1937). Appointed senior managing director of Tobitaka Shipbuilding & Iron Manufacturing Company (1943) which the following year was renamed Kukinoumi Shipbuilding Company. Reinstated as Nihon Fisheries Company (1948) and served as its senior managing director and chief of Whaling Department and thereafter became president of Nihon Suisan Kaisha (Japan Fisherie& Company) (since 1950).
Held additional post of permanent director of Nikkeiren (Federation of Japan Employers' Associations).
