Kyukei Oishi

Background

Kyukei Oishi was born in1721 in Japan.

Career

He is said to have been a retainer of the Takasaki Clan (Gumma Prefecture). A talented economist, he wrote Jikata Hanreiroku, a comprehensive record of farmland and tax systems and economic usages which prevailed in many provinces in the Edo Period. He was one of those persons who supplemented and revised Masayo Komiyama's Den-en Ruisetsu.
