Born in Necpaly, he played for Czechoslovakia national team in 19 matches and scored 6 goals. After Scoring the goal against brasil at the 1970, he celebrated doing the Sign of The Cross. Petráš played for Dukla Banská Bystrica and later Inter Bratislava.
