Lady Hyegyeong witnessed her husband"s execution which was ordered by her father-in-law King Yeongjo of Joseon and later wrote the The Memoirs of Lady Hyegyeong (Hangul: 한중록. ready reckoner: Hanjungnok), detailing her life as the ill-fated Crown Princess, her husband"s descent into madness and the deeds for which he was eventually put to death.
