Engaged in farming until 1919. Principal junior high school, Randolph and Elmore counties, Alabama, and in wholesale produce business, 1920-1921. Superintendent school at Oakman, Alabama, 1922-1923.

Superintendent schools, Tallapoosa County, Alabama, 1924-1926. Member 70th, 71st and 72d Congresses (1927-1933), 5th Alabama District. Field representative Agricultural Adjustment Administration, 1933-1936, principal administrative officer and general contact representative from 1936.

Religion

Politics

The state should not use its authority to promote any particular religious belief. It should allow people practice their own religious convictions.
