Lakshmipati Misra was born on July 4, 1888 in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Education

Lakshmipati Misra got Bachelor of Science at Agra University (now Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University), then at Roorkee University (now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) in 1910, and, in 1959, he became Doctor of Engineering (Honorary).

Career

Lakshmipati Misra joined Indian State Railway in 1911. He studied tour of Europe to see Divisional Organization of Railways during 1927-1928.

Users Consultative Council (1953); Development Council for Internal Combustion Engines (since 1953); Advisory Panel for Central Board of Film Censors, Calcutta (1951-1956); Fact Finding Committee for development of New Industries (1956); lndian Standards Institution (Chairman, Calcutta Branch Committee since 1956); Road & Inland Water Transport Committee (since 1958); Indian Roads & Transport Development Association (President, Calcutta Branch), Association of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Chairman). He also belonged to Calcutta Club.
