Career
Before joining the university, he served in management positions at BDO (Barton, Durstine & Osborn) and Batten Co. Worldwide over more than two decades in the United States, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and finally, Dubai, and became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from June 1991 to March 1997. He served as Academic Dean from March 1997 to June 1997, and (at first interim) president of the university thereafter. He is also the current president of the United Arab Emirates chapter, the world"s largest chapter of the International Advertising Association., and is Assistant Professor of Marketing Communications at the University.
He received a Bachelor of Arts from Saint John Fisher College.
In the mid-seventies he was an Associate Instructor at Indiana University (Bloomington), from which he received an Master of Arts and an Master of Business Administration(Marketing) in 1977. He was born in Rochester, New York to Edward and Lucy de Masi.
