Career
Oswald originally played for Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League. After a standout 1957 season, where he was the league leading goalkicker, narrowly lost the league best and fairest, and represented the league in the country football championships, Oswald was recruited by Victorian Football League (VFL) side, Street Kilda. Ian Stewart took over as centreman in 1963, Oswald retired as a player and coached Strathmerton.
He was later named on the wing in Street Kilda"s Team of the Century.
