He served in the United States Navy in World World War II and eventually got a job as a road salesman for Capri Coat in the nineteen forties. In 1951 Levine founded Larry Levine, Incorporated. By the mid-sixties his traditional, classic, coats and suits were sold in virtually every clothing store in the country. Larry Levine was one of a very few clothing manufacturers of his time to brand his own name. Levine sold part of his company to South. Rothschild, Incorporated. in 1991 but remained as president In 1996 Levine cut all ties with the South. Rothschild. Larry Levine Incorporated. is still one of the strongest names in women"s outerwear in the United States. Larry Levine coats and suits are an integral part of Federated Stores" matrix with garments sold in Macy"s, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom"s et cetera
