This is possibly the sweetest gay fantasy book written during the magical post-Stonewall, pre-AIDS epoch. It's a series of poems/stories about fairy men living in a community, spending time together, wearing spangles, and mocking straight society.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Muncie, Indiana, United States, on July 12, 1938. He was a son of C. Ray (a factory owner) and Dorothea (a homemaker) Mitchell.
Larry Mitchell graduated from Colby College, Waterville, earning his Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Arts (1960) degrees. In 1968 he finished Columbia University with Doctor of Philosophy.
Mr. Mitchell served as an instructor in sociology at College of Staten Island, City University of New York, from 1969 till 1994. With Terry Helbing and Felice Picano, he cofounded Gay Presses of New York in 1981. In addition to his own work, he was friends with and collaborated with many prominent gay artists working in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s including William "Bill" Rice, David Wojnarowicz, Peter Hujar and Gary Indiana. The feature film Acid Snow (1998) directed by Joel Itman is based on Mitchell's novel of the same name.
He co-edited the book "Willard Waller on The Family, Education and War" with William J. Goode and Frank Furstenberg published in 1970.
