Larry J. Halpern studied at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati in 1964 and 1967, he first recieved Bachelor of Arts in Hebrew Literature and then recieved Bachelor of Arts in Hebrew Literature. He also studied at University of Pennsylvania and recieved Bachelor of Arts in 1963.
Larry J. Halpern succeeded in life and held many different positions, took part in numerous activities. He was: Congregation of Liberal Judaism (Orlando, Florida) in 1970, President of Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando in 1983-1985, President of South East Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) in 1985-1987, Executive Board of Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) in 1988-1990, Co-Chair of National Rabbinical C'tee, State of Israel Bonds Soviet Jewry Campaign in 1989; active member of: Association of Reform Zionists of America (AZRA), Synagogue Council of America, Interfaith Council of National Conference of Christian and Jews - Southeast Regin, Jewish Executive Rabbis of Government (Orlando), Operation Exodus of State of Israel Bonds, Citizen Advis; C'tees for Congressman Jim Bacchus of Florida, Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ), Orlando Coalition for Drug-free Community, Combined Jewish Appeal of Orlando, etc.
