He was the Chief Executive Officer of National Cash Register Corporation from 1995 through 2003. Chief Executive Officer of TeliaSonera from 2007 to February 1, 2013, his resignation was prompted by an internal investigation into a telecom deal struck with a company run by the daughter of the Uzbeki president, involving suspected bribes. Prior to joining National Cash Register, Nyberg was with Philips Electronics Nevada for 20 years in a number of senior positions.
Most recently, he was chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Philips" Communications Systems Division.
Nyberg also serves on the boards of directors of The Sandvik Group in Sweden and Wisconsin-based Snap-on Incorporated. In July 2007 he was appointed to Chief Executive Officer of TeliaSonera.
