Burt, Laura was born on September 16, 1882 in Ramsey, Isle of Man. Daughter of Captain Brown and Ann Lloyd (Welsh) Burt.

Educated American Academy Dramatic Arts, New York.

Career

Became American citizen, 1924. As a child played as “star” in “Blue Jeans,” 14th St. Theatre, New York, 1890, and played Madge in “In Old Kentucky,” England and United States, 1890-1893. Appeared in “The Heart of the Klondyke,” “A Dangerous Maid,” as Helen of Swabia, in “Dante,” in “Louis XI,” etc.

Played as co-star with Sir Henry Irving, and co-star with her husband in “Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall”. Created rôle of Nurse in “Damaged Goods”. Has appeared in various Shakespearean roles.
