(Collage is one of the most widely used and highly respect...)
Collage is one of the most widely used and highly respected programs for intermediate French courses. As in previous editions, Collage is a component program and consists of a grammar review (Collage: Révision de grammaire), a cultural reader (Collage: Variétés culturelles, and a literary reader (Collage: Lectures littéraires). The program is coordinated by theme and by content, chapter by chapter across all 3 books. The result is a very flexible program that can be used in any combination and can be easily adapted to suit a wide variety of instructors and courses. The new edition of Collage retains the flexible format that works so well in the classroom, and offers a host of new features as well as a streamlined grammar presentation. The Fifth edition of Collage continues to introduce students to francophone countries and cultures throughout all of the components.

(This edition consists of three volumes - a review grammar...)
This edition consists of three volumes - a review grammar, a cultural reader and a literary reader - that are co-ordinated by theme and by language, chapter by chapter, across all three books. The organization means that the topics, the language and the structures covered in, for example, Chapter Three of the review grammar are the same as those covered in Chapter Three of either the cultural or literary reader. This format allows instructors to use any of the texts by themselves or in conjunction with one another. The practice material in the "Collage" programme progresses systematically within each grammar point. Students first complete very focused and controlled exercises to establish their understanding of a grammar structure, then they proceed to open, communicative activities where they can practise using the structure in a more conversational context. In order to give intermediate students maximum exposure to French language, all of the "Collage" programme, with the exception of the vocabulary lists, is completely in French. In "Revision de Grammaire", 4th edition, the presentation of grammar has been streamlined. The material that is essential for second-year students has all been retained, but is covered in less detail than in previous editions. The new design includes improved charts and tables and new graphic elements designed to make the information more accessible. In addition, new grammar summaries in the margins of the text provide a quick and convenient review and reference features for students.
