Mellin is a health psychologist and an Associate Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco"s School of Medicine. She directs the national research coordinating center for emotional brain training (Electron beam tomography) in University of California, San Francisco’s Center for Health and Community, and she has authored two best-selling books on Electron beam tomography. Mellin has conducted research on the method and has trained psychologists, physicians, and other health professionals to use the tools in their practices.
