Career
lieutenant was her first major pageant title, although she had previously competed in the Mission Nevada 2005 pageant. She placed in the top fifteen of the nationally televised competition, the first placement by a delegate of that state since 2001. Scyphers was born in Monterey, California and lived in Marina, California before moving to Nevada.
Scyphers graduated from Douglas High School Minden, Nevada in 2004, then moved to Las Vegas so she could pursue a modeling career.
She took a cosmetology course at the Aveda Institute and studied at the College of Southern Nevada. They have a daughter, Marley (born April 30, 2008).
