Career
Prior to joining Airbnb, he was the Chief Financial Officer of The Blackstone Group. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Tosi held a number of senior positions at Merrill Lynch & Company including chief operating officer of Merrill"s trading and investment banking division.
Before Merrill, he worked at General Electric Company"s Consumer News and Business Channel and National Broadcasting Company divisions as a director of business development.
He joined Blackstone as Chief Financial Officer in June 2008 at just 40 years of age. In January 2011, Tosi was offered the job of Chief Financial Officer at Apple by Steve Jobs, but turned it down.
Before joining Airbnb, Tosi was on the short list of Blackstone senior executives being groomed to take over the role of Chief Executive when Stephen Schwarzman retires.
