He was educated at the then selective Catholic establishment The John Fisher School and graduated from Surrey County Cricket Club Academy in 2007, but never made an appearance for the county.

He played three first-class games for Durham UCCE in 2007, and one first-class game for the Master Control Console against the touring West Indies later that summer. He was released from Surrey in 2010, and he then signed for Warwickshire later that year. He batted in an advert that bookended Sky Sports coverage of the 2008 Test Cricket series between England and South Africa.
The pair added 327 against Sussex in the County Championship at Birmingham.
Evans plays club cricket for Old Whitgiftians Central Committee in the Surrey Championship when his County duties allow.
