Called to Bar, Inner Temple, 1885. Admitted Victorian Bar, 1887. Assistant master of Wesley College, 1887-1897.
Headmaster of University High School, Melbourne, 189S-1901. Is a Fellow of Queen’s College, Melbourne University, and a member of the Public Examinations Board and of the Faculty of Arts of that University. Was President of the Victorian Amateur Athletic Association, 1902-1904, and first Chairman of the Australian Board of Control of International Cricket. ; Headmaster of Wesley College, Melbourne, Australia, since 1902.
