He earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Illinois Control College in 1986. In 1993, he received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cleveland State University and later pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Akron.
Career
Aycox worked as a registered nurse in Ohio and obtained CCRN certification in critical care nursing. In 1995, he became nursing supervisor at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Cleveland, where he served in nursing administration. He was also affiliated with the American Council of Learned Societies.
