Lam Lay Yong, granddaughter of Tan Kah Kee, niece of Lee Kong Chian, is Professor in Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, National University of Singapore.
Education
She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS Grad. Medical School) in 1957 and pursued graduate study in Cambridge University, obtaining her Doctor of Philosophy degree from University of Singapore in 1966, and becoming a lecturer at the University of Singapore.
Career
She was promoted to full professor in 1988, taught in NUS Grad. Medical School for 35 years, and retired in 1996.
Membership
Lam was a member of Académie Internationale d"Histoire des Sciences.
