Leah graduated from St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, Ohio) in 2002. She then attended Bowling Green State University, where she received a B.A. in Interpersonal Communication (2005) and an M.A.

In Communication Studies (2006). D'Emilio's first major hosting gig was as an on air personality for Toledo's FOX TV affiliate WUPW. From there, she went on to host and produce her own cable sports show for Buckeye Cable Sports Network. She is a former “Face of FOX Toledo” TV personality and TV host/producer of BCSN’s “The Light Side”.
D’Emilio lived in Los Angeles from 2007–2009, pursuing her career in the entertainment industry. She co-hosted the Mahalo Daily podcast from June 2008 to March 2009. She then went on to work as the lead director and producer for Rocketboom in New York City.
She has experience in acting, hosting, modeling, music performance and composition (piano, guitar, and voice), voice-over, commercial, and writing. In 2002, she competed as one of 50 finalists in the English Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare Competition in New York City. Outside of her career pursuits, Leah loves to travel and is especially passionate about Italian culture and cuisine.
She speaks fluent Italian.
During her undergraduate career at Bowling Green, Leah was a member of the Speech and Debate team, winning many awards at both the regional and national level.
