He got education at Radkauskaya elementary school, then at the school in village Chapyali, where is was a branch of Ljubanskaya high school. Simultaneously with the studies at senior school he worked as a postmen and an operator of post office in village Chapyali. Feeling the necessity to become proficient in literary theory and practice, hoping to obtain them at the time of journalistic work, he got a job in the newspaper «Shahter» office in Soligorsk (1967-1968), afterwards he got a gob in mine (1968-1970).
He combined miner's job with tuition by correspondence at philology department of BSU, where he entered in 1968, buy didn’t complete it. He passed away tragically, going down the mine.
The first poetic work of L. Yakubovich, verse «Morning» («Ranitsa»), was published at the newspaper «A Red change» («Chyrvonaya zmena») in 1965. Later his works appeared in newspapers «Miner» («Shahter»), «The voice of Motherland» («Golas Radimy»), «Minsk’s truth» («Minskaya prauda»), in collected joint collections «Run», «Poetic university» («Universitet paetychny»). He is the athour of book «I am with you, springs…» («Ya z vami, vjesny…»), in which he put together the most mature verses. The main themes of his works are feeling of his own beloning to
all in the world. His favorite poetic images are the sun, a morning, a path, the spring, native Belarus, life, whose kind and high manifestations he could rejoice.
