Career
During the early 1990s Lee Fiedler was the president and Chief Executive Officer of The Kelly Springfield Tire Company, a company that manufactured tires for about two dozen private brand marketers—including giants such as Sears, Wal-Mart, Discount Tire and Big O Tires. In 1999, Fiedler retired from Kelly-Springsfield Tire at age 57 after Goodyear decided to move the operation to Akron, Ohio from Cumberland. The following year Fiedler was elected Mayor, replacing Editor Athey in the non-partisan, part-time position.
In 2001, Lee Fielder was inducted into the Tire Industry Association Hall of Fame.
Mayor Fiedler also teaches business part-time at Frostburg State University. On July 6, 2010 Lee Fiedler decided to not run for re-election ending 10 years of serving as Mayor.
Fiedler has endorsed Democratic Mayor-elect Brian Grim.
