She is no stranger to pageants, having placed 1st runner-up in 2005, 4th runner-up in 2004 and in the semi-finals at Mission Rhode Island Teen United States of America 1997. Tingley is originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island. After leaving high school she initially began an accounting degree from Bryant University, but decided to defer her studies and pursue cosmetology instead.
In 2002 she received a Rhode Island License in Cosmetology after completing a course at the Angelo School of Cosmetology and Hair Design.
She is currently an independent contractor, with her own fully comprehensive styling and image consulting business. She specializes in multi dimensional hair coloring, and has created her own cosmetic line, LeeannNicole Cosmetics.
Leeann is currently back in school, at Rhode Island College, where she is working towards her Bachelor of science in nursing . Tingley also aims to become a certified personal trainer and one day aims to open her own full service day spa and wellness center. Later she was part of the Rhode Island state team that secured a spot on the USFSA national team, which would go on to compete for the United States of America in international competitions.
The team was also an exhibitioner for the Ice Capades.
Her other hobbies and interests include endurance training, skiing, drawing, photography, running, field hockey and golf.
Tingley won the Mission Rhode Island United States of America 2006 title in a state pageant held on August 28, 2005. On April 21, 2006 she competed for the title of Mission United States of America 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland and placed in the top 10. Leeann was also roommates with Mission United States of America 2006 Tara Conner. Tingley was also one of twenty six Mission United States of America Delegates who appeared on Deal or Number Deal in April 2006. She is an accomplished skater, joined her first synchronized figure skating team at age nine and competed annually at the United States Figure Skating Precision Team Championships from grade eight.
