Leigh Eddings was born on September 30, 1937, in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, United States. She was the daughter of Helen Kray.
Eddings served in the Air Force. After her marriage to David Eddings, Leigh became a co-author of many of his later works and uncredited co-author of his early works.
Eddings co-authored the first published novel of David Eddings titled High Hunt. The novel was first published in 1973. She also wrote other books with her husband, but the writings were not credited as such until the publication of Belgarath the Sorcerer in 1996.
