Lena has more than 35 years in the Creative Arts and Education and toured professionally in Brazil, having presented in Joao Pessoa, PB; Natal, RN; Recife, PE; Salvador, BA; Porto Alegre, RS; and Brasilia, Brazil; Fortaleza, CE; and Campina Grande, PB. A standard presentation with an accompanist was 24 songs--seven languages. Because Brazilian music is so close to the hearts of the people in the northeast, she used more Portuguese along with her traditional Italian, German, French and English songs. In the south, where many Brazilians speak other languages fluently, she used Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Latin, as well as Portuguese and English. Her career in public education spans more than 35 years and after her retirement, she began an authorial career that resulted in 16 books and 10 additional students supervised/edited publications. Her authorial career continues today.
