He is 6 ft 8 1⁄2 in (204 m) tall. He plays at the power forward position. On September 1, 2013, Mainoldi signed a one-year deal with the Spanish Euroleague club Laboral Kutxa.
He played at the 2009 International Basketball Federation Americas Championship and the 2013 International Basketball Federation Americas Championship.
