Rassieur, Leo was born on April 19, 1844 in Wadern, Russia. Son of Theodore and Margaret (Klauck) Rassieur.

Education

Came to the United States in early childhood. Graduated from St. Louis Central High School, 1860. Doctor of Laws, McKendree College.

Career

Served private to major in Missouri vols., Union Army, 1861-1865. Taught in public schools, St. Louis, 1866-1867. Admitted to bar, April 1, 1867, at St. Louis.

Attorney school board by election, 1880-1890. Judge Probate Court, St. Louis, 1895-1899, declining renomination. Resumed law practice.

Commander-in-chief G.A.R., 1900-1901. President Missouri Vicksburg National Military Park Commission, 1911-1917.
