Editor public Evening Journal, Wichita, Kansas, 1887-1890. Assistant editor Chicago Inter-Ocean, 1891-1896. In charge war correspondent in Cuba and during Spanish-American war for New York Herald, 1897-1899.

Washington correspondent, New York Herald, 1900, city editor and Sunday editor, until 1911. Contributor to Metropolitan, World’s Work, Everybody’s and Mechanics mags. Founder and president Leo.

L. Redding & Company, for endowment work in connection with colleges and similar instns. Director various Red Cross, United War Work and library association campaigns, New York, 1917-1919.
