Student in public schools, Cambridge, and special instruction Harvard Observatory.

Career

Assistant at Harvard Observatory, 1899-1911, in charge of Arequipa (Peru) station, 1911-1915, variable star investigator, and astronomer, since 1915. Instructor in astronomy Harvard, 1928, Pickering Memorial astronomer, since 1931. Assists in extension of research among amateur astronomers.
