Career
He was made custodian of the Vatican Library in 1661. Leone compiled and published (Rome, 1666) a “ Dramaturgia,” or catalogue of all dramas and operas till then brought out in Italy,—an important historical work (2nd augmented ed. Venice, 1755), wrote a treatise, ‘‘ De Melodiis Graecorum.” He died in Rome on January 19, 1669.
