1929 graduate Leningrad Academy of Arts.
1933 joined team designing Palace of Soviets and Sverdlov Square subway station, Moscow. Company-designed Leningrad Indiana Academy. 1945-1955 head of a design studio, Moscow Board for Planning Housing und Civil Engineer Projects “Mosproyekl”.
Designed apartment blocks on the Arbal, Leningrad Highway and Bryusov Lane, Moscow. Also designed Leningrad Hotel and Kaluga, Kursk and new Arbat subway stations. In charge of architectural design of installations on Volga-Don Canal and Tsymlyansk Waterway.
Designed main gates for All-Union Agric Exhibition and contributed to reconstruction of war-damaged Sebastopol. Entered design competitions for buildings to house Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Council of People's Commissar and “Izvestia" ed offices. 1955 won 2nd prize in design competition for monument commemorating 300th anniversary of incorporation of Ukraine in Russia.
In same year subjected to scathing Party criticism, stripped of Stalin Prizes and membership of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Building and Architecture and dismissed from “Mosproyekt" by Party and government decree on “The Elimination of Excesses in Planning and Building”.4wards: Order of Leniir.Order of the Red Star. Badge of Honor; two Stalin Prizes (1949 and 1950).
Member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Building and Architecture. Communist Party member.
