While teaching (1910-1915) in primary schools, she attended (part-time) the University of Sydney (Bachelor, 1913) and in 1916-1919 taught in turn at Goulburn and at Street George Girls" high schools. In 1936 she edited The Roma Poetry Book, a much-reprinted anthology for school children which is still available in New South Wales State Library and University of Sydney library today.
