Leopold Vitoldovich studied at the men's provincial gymnasium, he took lessons on playing the cello from A.A. Lukinich, on playing the piano - from his father. In 1910 he graduated from St. Petersburg Conservatory with a gold medal and the title of "Free Artist" (class of Professor A. V. Verzhbilovich).
In 1910 Leopold Vitoldovich toured in Russia, in 1911 - in Paris, where he trained with P. Casals. Soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra (1911-1912). In 1917-1919 he worked at the Saratov Conservatory. In 1920-1921 Leopold Vitoldovich was in Voronezh, was subjected to political repression. In 1921-1923 he taught and performed with concerts in Orenburg, since 1923 - in Saratov. Since 1926 Leopold Vitoldovich lived in Baku, taught at the conservatory, performed, composed musical works (four cello concerts and others). In 1931 he moved to Moscow, taught at the Gnesins' Music Schools, the Ippolitov-Ivanov School of Music. Constantly came to Voronezh, gave concerts. In 1941, Leopold Vitoldovich was evacuated to the city of Chkalov, taught at the School of Music.
