Career
Scadding had been unemployed for a year before buying the winning ticket, and had beaten testicular cancer five years earlier. At that time Scadding was 53 and Samantha aged 38. In December 2013, it was reported that Les and Samantha had got divorced.
In August 2014 Scadding presented a four part television series for Independent Television featuring Welsh lottery winners.
The series was tilted "The Welsh Millionaires Club"
In August 2012, Scadding succeeded Chris Blight as Chairman of A.F.C., shortly after accepting an offer to join their board of directors. Just over eight months after he took the position, Newport defeated fellow Welsh club Wrexham in the 2013 Conference Premier play-off Final to gain promotion to the Football League following a 25-year absence.
On 18 June 2015 Scadding resigned as Chairman and as a Director of lieutenant was later reported that Scadding wished to spend more time at his holiday home in Barbados.
