Eshbaugh, Simpson & Varner was founded in 1984 by Joseph M. Tipton, now an appellate judge, Carl West. Eshbaugh, and Robert R. Simpson, all graduates of the University of Tennessee College of Law. James H. Varner, Junior, also a University of Tennessee College of Law graduate, joined the firm as a partner in 1987.
Although its emphasis is on civil and criminal litigation, the firm provides extensive business, corporate, real estate, and estate planning services.
