He was serving in Fanagariiski Grenadier regiment, took part in the Patriotic War in 1812, in the battles near Baradzino, Malye Jaraslautsi, Lutsen, Kulm, Leipzig, in 1814 matched in Paris with the regiment. In Paris Medicine Academy Nagumovich reported his research ‘ The usage of the phosphorus in the treatment of diseases, whereupon was picked up as a member-correspondent of this Academy and rewarded a silver medal. Since 1818 he had been a resident doctor in Belarusian-Mogilev military hospital. As a military doctor he took part in turkish (1828), polish (1831), Hungarian (1848) campaigns. In 1830 he was working in the committee of struggle against cholera in Saratov. In 1852 Leu was dismissed from the army according to the petition, and soon was nominated as a honorary member of Military-medicine scientist’s committee. He was also known as an active popularize of medicine knowledge. His research “The Instruction for treatment gunshot [missile] wounds in the way famous european surgeons do”(1822). The 1st, 7th and 8th sections of “treatises of mass epidemic contagious diseases” (1831) belong to him. Nagumovich contributed to a “Military-medicine magazine”, “A Friend of Health”.
