Took part in revol in Moscow. 1905 member, lit lectures group, Moscow Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. Contributed to newspapers “Bor’ba” and “Svetoch” then lived in Saint St. Petersburg.
Helped found newspapers “Zvezda” and “Pravda”. 1917 chairman, first legal Petrograd Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee. Chairman, Vyborg Rayon Administrator
After October Revol Presidium member, Petrograd Province Executive Committee. 1922 Soviet plenipotentiary in Norway. 1923-1924 Soviet plenipotentiary in Turkestan.
Member, Centr Asian Bureau, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks). From 1924 exec secretary, All-Union Social of Old Bolsheviks, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks). Also worked for State Planning Committee.
