1925 graduate Philological Faculty, Leningrad University.
1919 worked for book depositories and archives in Leningrad. From 1933 associate, Pushkin Commission, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Analysed and annotated manuscripts of Pushkin and Lomonosov.
Wrote commentaries on Pushkin’s 1831-1833 letters in Pushkin. Polnoye sobraniye sochineniy (Pushkin. Complete Works) (Volume(s) 3, 1935).
Commented on Lomonosov’s letters. Edited and annotated many of the letters to Pushkin in the acad ed of his works.
