PONTRYAGIN, Lev was born in 1908 in Moscow.
1929 graduated Moscow University.
Since 1939 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science. Specialist in topology and theory of continuous groups. 1932 discovered general law of duality and formulated general theory of the characteristics of commutative groups.
Religion obstructs scientific research and technological progress.
